Privacy Policy

When you sign up we ask for your first name, last name, email address and a password. We use these to create your account, sign you in, and show your name to your partner once you are linked.

You can invite a partner with a link or by email. When an invitation is created we keep the invitation, the email address it was sent to and whether it was accepted. When your partner joins, your two accounts are linked as a couple so you can move through the program together. Your partner can see your first name and your progress status in the program.

Much of Starting Strong asks you to reflect on your own. We save your answers so you can return to them.

• Private responses stay private to you. They are not shown to your partner.
• Shared and Reveal responses are answers you choose to share, or answers on questions clearly marked to be revealed. These become visible to your partner, usually only once you have both finished your part.

Each screen tells you whether an answer is private or will be shared. Finishing a Build does not, on its own, share your private answers.

During Reveal Moments™ and activities you complete together, we save what the two of you see together, choices you make together, and agreements you approve. Your Relationship Blueprint holds items you choose to save. Some items stay private to you; items you share or agree on are visible to your partner. Both partners' approvals are recorded where an item requires them.

We record which Builds and modules each of you has completed, and where you left off, so you can resume and so the program can open the next part of your journey. Your partner sees whether you have finished your part, not your private answers.

Some features use artificial intelligence to support reflection and conversation:

• Optional follow-up questions during some Reveals, to help you go a little deeper together.
• Listen, which reads on-screen text aloud.
• Voice dictation, which turns your spoken words into text when you choose to use it.

When you use one of these features, the relevant content is processed to produce what you asked for — for example, the text being read aloud, your recording being transcribed, or responses already visible to both partners being used to suggest questions. Not every response you write is sent to AI. Private responses are not used to generate suggestions for your partner. AI in Starting Strong does not diagnose, treat, evaluate or give clinical advice, and it is not a therapist.

Like most web apps, the services that host and run Starting Strong may automatically process technical information such as your browser type, device information, IP address and basic activity and error logs, to keep the service working and secure.

We rely on service providers to operate Starting Strong, including providers for hosting, database and sign-in, sending account and invitation emails, and the AI-assisted features described above. They process information on our behalf to provide those services. We do not sell your personal information.

We use reasonable safeguards, including access controls designed so that each person can only reach their own information and what their partner has chosen to share. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep it to yourself.

We keep your information while your account is active so your work is there when you return. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your information within a reasonable time, unless we need to keep some of it for legal or security reasons. Content you shared with your partner, or agreements you made together, may also be part of your partner's record.

• Choose which answers to share and which to keep private.
• Edit your own responses where the program allows it.
• Choose whether to use Listen, dictation and follow-up questions.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account.
